Privacy Policy

Moddator is designed to be as private as possible. Your mod and shader files never leave your device.

What Data We Collect

Moddator itself collects no personal data whatsoever. There is no user account system, no login, no analytics, and no logging on our servers — because there are no servers. The website is a collection of static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files served from a web host.

What Leaves Your Browser

The only outbound network requests made by Moddator are:

• To https://api.modrinth.com/v2 — SHA-512 hashes of your mod/shader files, to identify them by their Modrinth version fingerprint. These are one-way hashes; the original file cannot be reconstructed from a hash. No filenames, file contents, or personal information are included in these requests.
• To https://cdn.modrinth.com — Downloads of updated mod/shader files. These are standard HTTP GET requests for public files; no identifying information is sent beyond what your browser includes in any normal web request (IP address, browser user-agent).

Local Storage

Moddator uses the following browser storage mechanisms:

• IndexedDB — Temporarily stores your uploaded mod/shader file data between steps of a single session. This data lives entirely in your own browser and is overwritten each time you start a new upload. You can clear it at any time via your browser's developer tools or storage settings.
• localStorage — Stores your optional Modrinth API key (if you choose to enter one) and session counters (mods processed, updates found). This data never leaves your device.
• sessionStorage — Temporarily stores step-to-step state during a session. Cleared when your browser tab closes.

Advertising

Moddator displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to show you relevant ads based on your browsing activity. This is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalised advertising via Google's Ad Settings.

Third-Party Services

Moddator integrates with:

• Modrinth — for mod/shader lookup and download. Subject to Modrinth's Privacy Policy.
• Google Fonts — for web font delivery. Google may log font requests.

Cookies

Moddator itself sets no cookies. Google AdSense and Google Fonts may set cookies as described in their respective privacy policies.

Children's Privacy

Moddator does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided information to us, please be assured that Moddator does not collect, store, or transmit personal data from anyone.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The most current version is always available at this URL. Continued use of Moddator constitutes acceptance of the current policy.
